A structured approach to a consultation

Considering high value interventions

National Welsh Standard
Once a patient is diagnosed with ILD, they are generally managed by specialist secondary care teams. However, with progression of their disease, these patients are going to need increasing amounts of support.
The aim of this National Welsh Standard is to outline some simple points to the primary care management of patients with ILD.
Interstitial lung disease can have a devastating effect on a patient’s quality of life, and their disease progression can be rapid. Improving the quality of care for patients with ILD in the community, through symptom management, reducing the risk of comorbidities, and palliative care, can make a big difference, and this can all be facilitated by primary care teams.
In this episode of the TV show, we are joined by Professor Ben Hope-Gill who provides some simple points to the primary care management of patients with ILD.
