Skin integrity of a tracheostomy stoma

In this tutorial, Jo outlines some simple steps to good skin care for a child living with a tracheostomy. Having a a silicone tube that tapes around the neck may cause some issues. But there is a lot we can do to prevent this by good daily skin care, good moisturising of the skin, good cleaning and drying of the skin. Keeping the tapes at a tension that supports the tube but is not too tight that it pinches goes a really long way to maintaining the integrity of of of the skin.
