Susceptibility to COVID-19

There are several factors to susceptibility to infections, and severity of symptoms:

  • Host factors, including age (younger people are more likely to experience asymptomatic infection), genetic factors (likely to be a genetic component to the immune response to the virus), pre-existing conditions, and frailty.
  • Pathogen factors, including the amount of virus you are exposed to.
