The SpO₂ is the percentage of Haemoglobin saturated with oxygen (HbO₂) in the peripheral capillaries compared to the percentage of unbound haemoglobin (Hb). This is an indirect measurement using a pulse oximeter. A normal SpO₂ is typically considered above 95%.
