Categorise the patient into three COPD phenotypes
Step 4 of the All-Wales COPD Management and Prescribing Guideline focuses on the categorisation of a patient with COPD into three phenotypes; COPD with predominant breathlessness, COPD with frequent exacerbations and COPD with Asthma overlap. These phenotypes will guide the prescription of inhaled medication; stage 1 inhaled therapies, and when to escalate to stage 2 inhaled therapies.
Let’s hear from Dr Simon Barry who explores this step further.
